01Orange Goo Collection Tips — Planet by Planet

Orange Goo is the upgrade currency for every suit upgrade in the game. There are 52 major deposits tracked here, but small scattered blobs also exist throughout each planet — these are not tracked individually as they're generally impossible to miss. The deposits listed are the hidden, out-of-the-way caches that most players walk past.

🌋 Stellaris Prime — Most Beginner-Friendly

The starting planet has the densest Goo per area of all four planets. The most commonly missed deposits are in Sector B behind the large waterfall (requires no upgrades — just wade through) and the cave cluster beneath the lava bridge in Sector C. Get Jump Boost first — it opens Sector D which has four high-value deposits that beginners completely skip.

💡
Stellaris Prime Hidden Cache
Sector A contains a floor panel that can be Stomped to reveal a hidden room with 25 Goo — the single largest deposit on the planet. It's near the second Upgrade-o-Rama terminal. You need the Stomp upgrade to access it.

🌿 Xephyr — Go Vertical

Xephyr's Goo is almost entirely in the canopy and upper layers — not on the jungle floor. The default path takes you through the lower sections and you'll miss most deposits unless you actively look up and ascend. Double Jump + Grapple are essential for thorough Xephyr coverage. The Goo Detector upgrade is at its most valuable here — the dense foliage makes visual searching very difficult.

❄️ Cryo Station — Check the Ceilings

Many Cryo Station deposits are frozen into the ceiling of caverns — you need Grapple to reach them. The ice visual effect makes orange Goo harder to spot than on other planets, so the Goo Detector is more valuable here than anywhere else. Sector B has a particularly tricky cache behind a frozen wall that requires Explosive Goo to break.

⚠️
Easy to Miss
Cryo Station Sector C has three deposits that only become accessible after the boss fight — a new path opens. If you're tracking and can't find the last few deposits, check Sector C post-boss.

☠️ Noxious Ridge — Least Goo, Hardest to Reach

The fewest deposits of any planet but the highest average value per deposit. The toxic atmosphere makes prolonged exploration punishing without Armour Plating — get that upgrade before coming here. All deposits on Noxious Ridge require at least Double Jump + Grapple to reach. Sector B's deposits are only reachable after deactivating the toxin vents mid-story.

02Frequently Asked Questions

How much Orange Goo is there total in Revenge of the Savage Planet?
This tracker covers 52 major hidden deposits worth 1,220+ Goo. Including smaller scattered blobs and creature drops, the true total across all four planets exceeds 1,400–1,500 Goo. The full upgrade tree costs ~880 Goo, so you don't need to find every single deposit — thorough exploration is more than enough.
Does Orange Goo respawn in Revenge of the Savage Planet?
Fixed deposits — the large glowing orange caches — do not respawn once collected. They are permanent one-time pickups per save file. Small scattered Goo blobs on the ground may reset between play sessions on some planets, but the major deposits tracked here are collect-once.
Can you miss Orange Goo permanently?
No. You can revisit any planet at any time to collect Goo you missed. Nothing is locked behind a story gate after completion. The only complication is that some deposits require specific upgrades to reach — if you didn't have Grapple or Double Jump on your first visit, you'll need to return after unlocking them.
What is the best planet to farm Orange Goo?
Stellaris Prime has the highest density of accessible Goo for early-game players. Once you have all mobility upgrades (Jump Boost + Grapple + Double Jump), Xephyr's upper canopy deposits become the most efficient route — several 15-Goo caches clustered in Sector B. For late-game farming from creature drops, Noxious Ridge's mid-section enemies have the best drop rates.
Do I need to collect all Orange Goo for 100% completion?
The game tracks your Goo collection as part of planet completion percentage. For true 100% on each planet, you need to collect all Goo on that planet. However, the achievement/trophy for 100% completion typically requires completing all Kindex entries and planet objectives — Goo collection contributes to the planet percentage score.
