01Orange Goo Collection Tips — Planet by Planet
Orange Goo is the upgrade currency for every suit upgrade in the game. There are 52 major deposits tracked here, but small scattered blobs also exist throughout each planet — these are not tracked individually as they're generally impossible to miss. The deposits listed are the hidden, out-of-the-way caches that most players walk past.
🌋 Stellaris Prime — Most Beginner-Friendly
The starting planet has the densest Goo per area of all four planets. The most commonly missed deposits are in Sector B behind the large waterfall (requires no upgrades — just wade through) and the cave cluster beneath the lava bridge in Sector C. Get Jump Boost first — it opens Sector D which has four high-value deposits that beginners completely skip.
🌿 Xephyr — Go Vertical
Xephyr's Goo is almost entirely in the canopy and upper layers — not on the jungle floor. The default path takes you through the lower sections and you'll miss most deposits unless you actively look up and ascend. Double Jump + Grapple are essential for thorough Xephyr coverage. The Goo Detector upgrade is at its most valuable here — the dense foliage makes visual searching very difficult.
❄️ Cryo Station — Check the Ceilings
Many Cryo Station deposits are frozen into the ceiling of caverns — you need Grapple to reach them. The ice visual effect makes orange Goo harder to spot than on other planets, so the Goo Detector is more valuable here than anywhere else. Sector B has a particularly tricky cache behind a frozen wall that requires Explosive Goo to break.
☠️ Noxious Ridge — Least Goo, Hardest to Reach
The fewest deposits of any planet but the highest average value per deposit. The toxic atmosphere makes prolonged exploration punishing without Armour Plating — get that upgrade before coming here. All deposits on Noxious Ridge require at least Double Jump + Grapple to reach. Sector B's deposits are only reachable after deactivating the toxin vents mid-story.
